MOUNT GAMBIER

This morning we travelled the 30 kms into Millicent, parked "Lucky Pigs" and went for a walk around the town as the weather was cool but not raining. Daisy enjoyed it - all the different smells around and plenty of green lawn in the park to "pee" on. We then continued on to Mt.Gambier and went searching immediately for a particular camping ground that was supposed to be 6 kms out of town, but when we found it and we saw it was closed for maintenance and the whole place was for sale anyway we decided to go to the Mt. Gambier show-grounds which was closer to the city centre. Around midday we booked in for a week until finding out more. Cost of powered site is $15 a day and $20 refundable amenities key deposit. Looks like you are only allowed to stay here for 28 days max. and then have to leave for at least 2 days before you are allowed to re-book in. But we will see if there is any part-time work around before booking for longer period. We are here with about 7 other caravans and motor-homes and we met a couple next to us from NSW who also have a small dog similar to Daisy. All TV here is Digital and Telstra, Vodafone mobile and Internet reception is very good. TV channels include some local ones as well which is good in order to find out what's on etc. We both feel a bit lost at present, but I suppose this is normal after leaving Adelaide, which has been home for so long.
