"Lucky Pigs" is the name given to our Winnebago motor-home by the previous owners who had friends from New Zealand who used to call them "Lucky Pegs" because they were living and traveling in the Winnebago around Australia as we are now doing. "Lucky Pigs" in New Zealand are equivalent to "Lucky Buggers" here in Australia. We decided to keep the existing name after purchasing it in February 2010.

CHARTERS TOWERS
Only travelled 50kms today from our camp at Reid River to Macrossan, which is about 20kms east of Charters Towers. We decided to stop here at a Macrossan Park which is right on the banks of the Burdekin River and there are several other motor-homes camped here. It has been windy all day, but it was quite refreshing otherwise it would've been hot here as there is not much shade around unless you can camp right on the river itself. Beautiful sunsets out here and plenty of 3 & 4 trailer road trains, as this is the main road between Mt.Isa & Townsville, but sanity prevails as most of them travel late afternoon or at night. No Digital TV only analogue, Very poor Vodafone mobile\internet, Telstra mobile coverage is poor but working here.
