TULLY

More voluntary work for BlazeAid here on Saturday, Monday & today. Sunday we both had off and just had a rest day and a bit of washing done. For the last two days we have been putting up new fencing on a property on the Bruce Highway south of Tully and just 7kms north of Cardwell owned by Bill & Lyn. They had  an orchard of 18yr old Lychee trees, Limes, Lemons, Mangos, etc. but lost them all in the Cyclone. Weather was pleasant today, not too hot, no rain just a little overcast. Bill & Peter went south of Cardwell this morning to borrow a tractor from a friend of his and after driving it up onto the truck Peter drove the truck back to the property as we needed it to lift some heavy saw timber poles and bore the post holes with the auger on the back. We have decided to have two consecutive days off voluntary work in future so as we can get our laundry done as well as having time to do some sight-seeing and fishing around here (heaps of crocs in the best fishing spots so we will need to be careful indeed! The sugar mill here at Tully has fired up again as the rain has stopped and the cane trains are running again day & night(photo)
